About Us

Verge Defense brings digital engineering to the edge of warfighting by integrating models, mission needs, and novel software solutions for decision-advantage.

We provide strategic consulting, technical services, and product innovations that transform digital engineering processes into continuous delivery for national security.

The Verge Difference

Many companies do not have a clear pathway to adopt Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) or question its value. We bring mission expertise, automation, and a software mindset to our customers, helping them meet their MBSE goals at a fraction of the cost.

The Verge Culture

Our products and services are representative of our people. We are mission-minded – delivering user-centered, warfighter-first digital engineering. We are creative technologists – seeking new ways to deliver digital impacts faster.

The Verge Effect

Our goal is to help you reach your goals using digital engineering. We get to work, then get out of the way for you to field capabilities. We believe digital engineering is part of the journey, not the destination.

Digital Engineering Capabilities

Digital Integration Areas

Improving and accelerating the capability lifecycle is heavily reliant on having a secure, revitalized, resilient digital infrastructure powered by a state-of-the-art, interoperable, low-latency network.

Who We Are

Founder & President

Chris Oravetz

Chris launched Verge Defense in July 2024 after 8 years of technical leadership in DoD Space and Air Force programs that include GPS satellite design, Command & Control (C2) software systems, and air-based mobile command centers. As an expert in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), he saw first-hand how MBSE became a siloed or niche method locked up in exquisite tool ecosystems. He set out to break barriers on integrating MBSE with other disciplines, including software, AI, cyber , and data science. Chris’s goal is to bring MBSE models to the verge (i.e., edge) of DoD decision-making.

Chris was previously a Director of MBSE Services for Air & Space Programs at Strategic Technology Consulting (STC), an MBSE leader across the DoD. He served as the founder and Chief Engineer of a Digital Engineering product line at Infinity Systems Engineering, capturing 3x SBIR Phase II contract wins in less than 2 years. Chris spent over 6 years supporting the Lockheed Martin GPS III & IIIF programs as a system architect. His has prior military experience with the Air Force Research Laboratory , the 19th Space Operations Squadron as a GPS Operator , & the 42nd Combat Training Squadron as a Space Electronic Warfare instructor .
